The first days of sabbatical in the Eternal City

Within the first few days, we made our way to the Basilica of St. Peter to celebrate Mass in the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception.  They call it a “chapel” – but it was the size of a small church, and could easily accommodate 150-200 people.

We also set out to explore the area around the North American College – namely, the Janiculum Hill.  Rome is surrounded by 7 hills, with the Janiculum Hill being one of them.  Venturing to the top, we saw several monuments, a plethora of busts of famous Italians, a splendid view of the city, and several other sights.
