Here’s where I’ll be staying
Casa O’Toole (COT) is an former convent that was renovated so that those on sabbatical might reside and take classes in a single location. COT is located on the grounds of the Pontifical North American College (PNAC).
The entire PNAC campus is an extraterritorial property of the Holy See. Thus, while not part of Vatican City itself, it is an extraterritorial property owned by the Holy See – and equates to something along the lines of how ambassadorial residences are considered extensions of the country they represent.
When I was on sabbatical in the fall of 2010, ours was the first class to occupy COT. In fact, if you look closely at the picture of the dining room, you’ll see me seated at one of the tables alongside my 2010 classmates! The pics below are taken from the current sabbatical website at https://www.pnac.org/icte/location Each pic, if clicked, will open in a new tab.
