Pope Leo XIV’s Birthday Celebration
Most people settle for a birthday cake, and perhaps a song that’s meagerly sung by family & friends. On Saturday, 13 September 2025 (the eve of Pope Leo’s 70th birthday) His Holiness was given a concert on St. Peter’s Piazza which concluded—not with cake, candles, or fireworks but—with an aerial drone demonstration. Check out these pics taken from my sabbatical balcony. (I actually think I got better pics than those in the square, simply because my pics didn’t suffer from the other ambient light that was present on the Piazza.)
